Katie has dedicated herself to advocacy work since 2000, with a strong focus on empowering youth to achieve their aspirations. Her most recent role involved serving as a facilitator at YouthRoots in Denver, where she taught curriculum on philanthropy, leadership, and fundraising, equipping young people with the tools to drive positive change in their communities. Prior to this, Katie worked with Roaring Fork Pre-Collegiate, the Mapleton Education Foundation, and the Mapleton Expeditionary School of the Arts, where she designed and implemented post-secondary transition programs for diverse learning communities. Her efforts have helped students overcome obstacles and realize their educational and professional goals. Originally from Redstone, Katie resides in Carbondale and enjoys spending quality time outdoors with her husband and two boys.
